Contemporary Classic
This concrete steel and soaring glass home is being designed to complement the ground on which it will be built. Incorporating elements of Philip Johnson’s “Glass House” and other modern timeless designs, Bela Rossmann has once again come up with a design that is definitely worth more than the sums of all of its parts. At grade level comprises an open kitchen, dining, sitting and entertainment areas with exposed aggregate concrete walls and an abundance of soaring glass. Every element of this home takes advantage of the inexhaustible beauty of nature and bucolic views. Lower level wings incorporate floor to ceiling glass walls along with structural concrete green roofs finished at grade with glass rails overlooking the terrace areas below. Geothermal heating and cooling combined with architectural solar roofing shingles and unique wind turbines shall help make this home self sustaining. Close to perfection, once completed, the many elements of the finishing details will make this home seem like arriving at a vacation destination. Photos depict examples of modern design.
